Electric Forest 2011

I will be going to Electric Forest for my first time this year and cannot wait! This is the one music festival that can top Summer camp and North Coast, because of your surroundings and area you are traveling to. Electric Forest is in Rothbury Michigan, and putting my self in an area that is completely different from my hometown will make it much more of an experience. Imagine walking through a mesmerizing forest that glows with lights and artwork. Take a look for your self;  ElectricForest. From talking with some of my friends that has experienced going to Electric Forest had nothing but amazing things to say about it. As for right now all I can do is keep thinking about how great my experience will be, and ill be sure to share my thoughts with you.

North Coast Music Festival 2010

North Coast was the second music festival I attended after Summer Camp. Summer Camp was a great time but in my opinion I enjoyed myself being a little closer to home in an area I was familiar with, which was Chicago. North Coast is slightly different because you are not camping out for a weekend, you are there all day and night till 10:00 pm. After the park closed they had after shows if you had bought a ticket in advance. When the first night ended I had tickets to the first after show for STS9 and Big Gigantic. The first day of North Coast was amazing and had already seen so many awesome live bands, but seeing the after show just topped my night even more! When the after show ended me and all my friends went back to our hotel we rented and could only talk about how much fun we had. The line up for North Coast is slightly similar to Summer Camps Line up; north coast lineup. All I can think about now is buying my tickets for next years line up for North Coast Music Festival!

Light Up Your View.

Glow sticks are one of the most popular item brought to a show, are normally not aloud in through security. Most people will sneak them in under there clothes, then whip em' out during the show while the lights are off and let the glow take over! I can even admit to sneaking glow sticks in past security just to have some fun with your accessories while you dance. Glow accessories or clothes are considered very trendy for electronic/dubstep concerts, they appeal to the eye, and go perfectly with the lasers and strobe lights. This picture on the right was taken at Summer Camp Music Festival of me and my camping mates. We called ourselves the "glow tribe", and people knew you were ready to dance and have fun at the next show when they saw all the glow.  Yes you can have fun with out glow sticks, but whats it going to hurt to make your time even better then it already is.

Get Your Grassroots Hat.

Grassroots hats have become a very popular item to wear, that basically represents your love for going to shows. The Grassroots are a group of people that travel the world to different music festivals and sell there personally designed hats to everyone out there! When you buy your first Grassroots hat over time you start to collect a collection of pins to decorate it with. These pins are everything from band logos, trippy designs, music festival logos, etc. On every Grassroots hat is your preferred design of your choice and the one and only grassroots logo; grassroots logo. Concerts I Have Been Through.

Going to concerts has become quit a hobby of mine, the paycheks I make from working a job doesnt go towards new cothes and jewelry, it goes towards buying multiple tickets in advance. Seeing live music is never the same as listening to your favorite band in your car, its an experience I never forget. I have taken videos of all the shows I've gone to and music festival shows. Purchase A Great Time.

The genre for electronic/dubstep/instrumental/experimental music usually sells cheaper tickets then any other genre of music. Depending on how popular the artist is of course can vary on the amount you will be spending. I highly recommend purchasing your tickets on the venues website. For example: I saw Pretty Lights at The Rave in Milwaukee Wisconsin, so I knew to buy my tickets of The Raves website. When you get to the website for the shows venue, it will show you right away were you can purchase your tickets. Buying tickets off EBay or Craig's List can be sketchy, especially when you don't know who your buying them from. The one Website I recommend using that is specifically made for buying tickets to your show is Clubtix.com. Clubtix offers a variety of different tickets for any type of show, all you need to do is look the tickets up and it will show you if they are available or not. After looking your tickets up you can purchase your tickets using your credit card just like any other purchase offline you would do. I hope my directions on purchasing your tickets isn't too boring, but its me telling you not to miss out on a good time!

Remix The Oldies!

Everyone loves the classic oldies from the 60's and 70's, and our era has taken the classic oldies and remixed them to another satisfying level. This has become very popular because it is the two most favored types of music mixed into one song. I do think that the classic oldies are perfect on there own and do not need to be changed, but the listening to the song in a different perspective makes me love music more then I already do.

Rave Attire.

Essentially rave attire means the weird and crazy outfits people will wear to shows. After going to various shows I learned that it can be even more fun if your dressing up to dance your *** off! When you go to shows that are dedicated to electronic/dubstep/instrumental genre of music there will always be lasers and strobe lights. This gets people to wear colorful neon clothes and wear glow sticks as jewelry. When guys dress up they usually wear big baggy tie-dye shirts or the band logo for whom they are seeing. When girls dress up its a whole other story! Some girls get the idea of a "go-go dancer" and wear colorful fury boots with fish nets; RAVE OUTFITS . I personally don't like that look, but its part of the whole scene. Girls also dress to be simple and comfortable to dance like wearing very bright loud colors, little clothing like shorts and a tank top because of how hot it gets, and a furry spirit hood; SPIRIT HOODS . I recently got my very first spirit hood from target a week ago, and I love it! Next time you find your self buying tickets for your next concert, dress the part and have fun!

Summer Camp Music Festival 2010

    

The people of Summer Camp 2010 loving every moment of there weekend!

The very first music festival I ever went to was Summer Camp 2010, in Chillicothe IL. I took the drive up there with a couple of my friends with all our belongings shoved in the trunk of the car. It took about 2 hours to get there from our hometown, and we planned on staying at SIU college in our friends dorm until the following morning. My alarm went off and I woke up right away because I was more then excited to get started on the day. My sister had a pre-party pass so she could be there a day earlier, and I had plans to camp with her. Once we got there my sister had our tent and blow up mattresses already set up, all I had to do was put my clothes away and I was ready to roam freely. For the first time I had a feeling of being on my own, and being able to see various bands at any time of the day made my weekend!There were so many bands playing all day and night every day, I was NEVER bored. summer camp 2010 line-up After experiencing my first day at summer camp, I knew the area a little better and couldn't help but love my life so much. All I'm saying is that you all need to experience going to a music festival once in your life.
